John Calipari watched 4-star shooting guard Tyler Herro work out on Tuesday, and apparently the Kentucky coach liked what he saw. Herro was offered a scholarship by Calipari, according to Corey Evans of Rivals.com.
Scout.com national recruiting analyst Evan Daniels confirmed the news. “I’m still looking at all my options but it feels good,” Herro told Daniels of the Kentucky offer.
Herro de-committed from Wisconsin on Oct. 17. Herro is the No. 4 shooting guard in the 2018 class and the 36th-ranked overall prospect in the class, according to 247Sports composite rankings. The Milwaukee, Wisc., native is 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds.
Kentucky is currently the favorite to land Herro, according to the 247Sports crystal ball. Oregon, Kansas, Butler, Villanova and Arizona are the other schools in contention.
The Wildcats are also considered the favorite for 5-star Keldon Johnson, another shooting guard in the 2018 class.
