Think of all the great freshmen in Kentucky history. And not just in the John Calipari era, either, though that’s certainly what these teams have been known for most. We’re talking about every freshman that’s ever put on a Wildcat uniform and appeared in an NCAA Tournament game. It’s a pretty impressive list, right?
Well of all those great freshmen, nobody has ever scored more points in an NCAA Tournament game than De’Aaron Fox did tonight against UCLA and Lonzo Ball:
De'Aaron Fox's 32 points are the most by any Kentucky freshman in an NCAA Tournament game.

Ultimately, Fox’s point total would climb further past that 32 point mark, all the way up to 39. Not only is that the most ever by a Kentucky freshman, it’s the most for any Wildcat since Tayshaun Prince in 2002, and the most points any player has scored during the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
