Isaac Humphries was never a star for John Calipari’s Wildcats, but he was a crucial role player for both of his seasons in Lexington.
After Kentucky’s 2016-17 season ended in heartbreak against the eventual national champion North Carolina Tar Heels, Humphries left the program to pursue a professional career. Unfortunately, it looks as though that career will not begin in the NBA, surely Humphries desired destination.
According to Olgun Uluc of Fox Sports Australia — the country from which Humphries hails — the former Kentucky big man has been cut by the Washington Wizards, and will not play in the NBA Summer League:
Can confirm that Isaac Humphries was released by the Washington Wizards, today. He won't be playing Summer League basketball, this year.

While this is surely a disappointment to Humphries and his fans, he is sure to land in professional basketball somewhere, whether it’s back home in Australia or somewhere in Europe.
