Kentucky basketball fans went from jubilation to heartbreak in a matter of seconds when the Wildcats fell 75-73 to North Carolina in the Elite Eight over the weekend.
Going through the appropriate stages of grief, it appears than many members of Big Blue Nation are still stuck in anger, and that anger has mostly been directed toward referee John Higgins, who many felt delivered some unfair calls to the Wilcats that made a huge difference in a two-point game.
Tuesday, many of those angry Kentucky fans found the Facebook page for Higgins’ personal roofing business, John Higgins Weatherguard, Inc., and flooded it with negative ratings that had absolutely nothing to do with his quality of roofing. Higgins’ company has accumulated more than 550 1-star ratings. Here are some of the highlights (Note: names and images have been redacted from included posts):
One fane even believed that the low rating posted on his Facebook page was completely related to his quality of roofing, only to post his own 1-star rating that had nothing to do with roofing:
After this picked up some traction, some fans took it upon themselves to try to counterbalance the negative reviews by posting 5-star reviews that were also mostly unrelated to roofing, essentially turning the Facebook page into some kind of weird Kentucky basketball message board that is vaguely related to roofing.
