Youthful Kentucky fans will get to hang out with both Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns in Lexington this summer.
Booker will host a previously announced ‘Shooting Camp’ on July 30, while Towns will be featured in John Calipari’s ‘Rookie of the Year Camp’ on Aug. 3.
Calipari and Towns — along with the Kentucky staff and “current and former Wildcats” — will run two sessions of the latter camp, each of which will last three-and-a-half hours. Children ages 7 to 17 are eligible to sign up.
Here’s an excerpt from the basketball program:
Calipari and Towns will touch on all aspects of the game, including passing, shooting, dribbling, defense and additional skill work. Towns will personally work and interact with each and every camper.
Towns won the 2015-2016 NBA Rookie of the Year award after a dominant season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Last year’s No. 1 overall draft pick averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 82 games en route to becoming the first former Wildcat to earn the league’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ distinction.
