Kentucky will be competing with Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma, Washington and Oklahoma State for Young’s services. The Red Raiders and Cowboys recently replaced head coaches.
Young is rated a 5-star guard out of Norman North High School in Oklahoma. He is ranked the No. 20 overall player in the class of 2017, including the No. 3 point guard. The 247 Crystal Ball has the Wildcats as the favorite with a 47-percent chance to land Young.
John Calipari is still waiting for his first commitment in Kentucky’s 2017 recruiting class. His five-man recruiting class in 2016 was the No. 2 group in the nation.
