LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky guard Mychal Mulder will miss his third game in a row Saturday against Kansas.
The senior is battling an unspecified illness that kept him out last Saturday against South Carolina and on Tuesday against Tennessee. Coach John Calipari was asked during a Thursday conference call about Mulder’s availability.
“My guess is 10 days, but I could be wrong, one way or the other a few days,” Calipari said. “But I would guess 10 days.”
Mulder would be in line to miss next week’s games against Georgia and Florida and potentially up to the LSU game on Feb. 7.
The senior is averaging a tick under 12 minutes per game and is sixth on the team in scoring with 6.5 points per game. Mulder was becoming a steady player in the backcourt rotation given his outside shooting ability. He leads the team with a 40-percent mark from behind the arc.
Kentucky and Kansas tip off at 6 p.m. Saturday at Rupp Arena. It will be the 30th matchup between the two most winning programs in college basketball.
