LEXINGTON, Ky. — Another All-SEC list dropped Tuesday and four Kentucky players were on it.
Phil Steele, known for his annual college football preview magazine, selected senior center Jon Toth fourth team All-America and first team All-SEC. Toth was named first team All-SEC by The Associated Press and second team All-SEC by the conference’s coaches.
Sophomore linebacker Jordan Jones was named second team All-SEC by Steele while junior running back Boom Williams and sophomore safety Mike Edwards landed on Steele’s third team.
It’s the first all-conference appearance for Williams this season as other outlets didn’t recognize the 1,000-yard back. Jones and Edwards appeared on several other outlets’ all-conference lists.
Kentucky returns to practice Thursday as preparations begin for its TaxSlayer Bowl matchup against Georgia Tech. The Wildcats and Yellow Jackets kick off at 11 a.m. Dec. 31 in Jacksonville, Fla.
