Kentucky’s star quarterback commitment Jarren Williams has, by all accounts, been putting on a show at Nike’s The Opening camp over the last few days in Oregon.
So much so that Williams, the 4-star prospect from Lawrenceville, Ga., is starting over the nation’s No. 1 quarterback in a 7-on-7 elimination game Monday afternoon.
Interesting that Savage Pro is starting UK commit Jarren Williams over Trevor Lawrence in key elimination game. #BBN

Williams is ranked the No. 13 dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class and 297th prospect nationally by 247Sports. Trevor Lawrence, who’s committed to Clemson, is the No. 1 ranked ranked prospect in the entire class.
But according to DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell, Williams has the hot hand.

Williams was named MVP of Game 2 of the 7-on-7 tournament at The Opening on Sunday night. He threw three touchdowns in the game.
Williams’ recruitment came full circle for the Wildcats as he was their first 2018 commitment before de-committing. He then recommitted on May 15.
He’s one of 14 commits in Kentucky’s 2018 class and one of three 4-star commitments. Offensive guard Marquan McCall and offensive tackle Darian Kinnard are the other two. The Wildcats’ class is ranked 20th in the country and fourth in the SEC, according to 247Sports.
