HOOVER, Ala. — Kentucky’s start to SEC Media Days has taken a step back in time in the branding category.
Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri and Texas A&M are the four schools taking the stage today in Hoover, and all helmets were featured on a table in the main ballroom. The only problem is that Kentucky’s helmet, more specifically, the logo on the helmet, was outdated.
Here’s a look at the old UK logo that appears on the helmet.
The new logo, which was introduced in 2015 features an interlocking “K.” Some call it the “crooked K.” Kentucky’s branding across all sports features the new UK logo.
Here’s a look at that one. A subtle difference, but not a mistake you’d expect to see at SEC Media Days.
