Stanley Garner, a 3-star cornerback from South Florida, committed to Kentucky on Wednesday night.
Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan, Clemson and Louisville were the final six schools in the running for Garner. The 6-foot-3 and 180-pound prospect is the 46th-ranked cornerback in the 2018 class and the 75th-ranked Florida prospect, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native attends Dillard High School, the same school that produced Kentucky freshman outside linebacker Jordan Wright. Coach Mark Stoops and company now have four Florida commitments, trailing only Ohio with seven UK commits.
Offensive coordinator Eddie Gran, who is responsible for most of Kentucky’s recruiting efforts in Florida, was the lead recruiter for Garner.
Garner is the 17th commitment in Kentucky’s 2018 class. The class was ranked 20th nationally and fifth in the SEC prior to Garner’s commitment. Garner is ranked as the Wildcats’ No. 8 commitment, according to 247Sports.
Garner joins JUCO prospect Domonique Williams as the Wildcats’ two cornerback commitments.
