Kentucky guard Tyler Ulis out vs. Illinois State, not “100 percent” yet
Kentucky will be without its leader against Illinois State on Monday night.
Sophomore guard Tyler Ulis (hyperextended elbow) will sit out versus the Redbirds, and if you read between the lines of coach John Calipari’s tweet, Ulis is not a sure thing for Thursday night’s game at UCLA.
“We’re going to hold Tyler out tonight,” Calipari’s account posted Monday night. “He’ll be fine but want to make sure he’s 100 percent before he goes back out there. He wants to play.”
Ulis hurt his arm while trying to grab a loose ball against South Florida on Friday night.
He’s the Wildcats’ leading assist man (4.3 per game) and was also the top scorer (currently 13.2 points per game) before hurting his elbow and falling behind Jamal Murray (14.8) and Skal Labissiere (14.7).
