John Calipari coached his Wildcats to a 2-0 start to the season on Sunday evening, and woke up to some great news on Monday morning. Four-star combo guard Shai Alexander announced his commitment to Kentucky basketball via Twitter.
The No. 1 player from the state of Tennessee in the 2017 recruiting class posted this note to unveil his decision:

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Alexander rates as the nation’s No. 2 combo guard prospect and the No. 43 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class.
Earlier in November, Alexander announced his final four schools were Kentucky, Texas, Syracuse and UNLV. He reportedly made an official visit to Texas over the weekend prior to making his final decision on joining the Wildcats.
Alexander was previously committed to play at Florida.
The 6-foot-4 guard plays his prep ball at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn.
