It’s no secret that Kentucky sorely needs to improve its pass-rushing next season, and coach Mark Stoops made some headway in those efforts this weekend when defensive end/outside linebacker Jordan Bonner committed to the Wildcats.
Bonner, whose Twitter bio now features “University of Kentucky commit,” is a 3-star prospect at Northeast Oklahoma A&M (a junior college). He is Kentucky’s 23rd verbal pledge for the Class of 2016, which is ranked 29th in the nation.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound prospect recorded 37 tackles and seven sacks in nine games for Northeast Oklahoma this past season, and he is listed as the No. 10 outside linebacker among junior college prospects.
Kentucky as a team only notched 17 sacks in 12 games, which was tied with Auburn for the least in the SEC.
