One of the best offensive lineman in Kentucky decided to stay in-state and committed to the Wildcats at the university’s junior day on Saturday, according to Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Austin Dotson of Belfry High School committed to the team on Saturday over offers from Tennessee Tech, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Morehead State and Marshall, according to Kyle Lovern of the Williamson Daily News. He was also drawing interest from Tennessee, per Roberts.
Dotson is a 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive tackle who earned Second Team Kentucky All-State honors as a junior in 2015 from the Associated Press, but doesn’t appear in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Kentucky has got off to an early start in recruiting for the Class of 2017 and has the third ranked class in the SEC in the latest rankings on 247 Sports, thanks to a conference-most seven commitments, not including Dotson.
