Kentucky added a big piece to its 2017 recruiting class Tuesday.
The Wildcats got a commitment from 4-star DE Joshua Paschal, according to 247Sports’ Josh Edwards. The Good Counsel (Md.) Olney pass rusher is ranked as the No. 11 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 7 prospect in the state of Maryland.
Paschal took an official visit to Lexington on Dec. 2. His brother is on staff with the Wildcats, which influenced his decision.
“A big factor in his decision was his relationship with his brother, former Kentucky defensive end and current graduate assistant, TraVaughn Paschal,” Edwards reported.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops tweeted his excitement after the commitment.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound lineman had offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama and Clemson, among others. He is the second-highest rated commit in Kentucky’s 2017 class behind 4-star WR JaVonte Richardson.
