AUGUSTA, Ga. — Kentucky target Cameron Reddish, a top-5 prospect in the 2018 class, is looking to cut his list to five or six schools in the next week.
Reddish didn’t make his updated list clear after a Peach Invitational game on Thursday afternoon, but Kentucky, Duke, Villanova, Arizona, Maryland, UCONN and UCLA were the schools he mentioned.
Reddish was held out of his team’s game on Thursday to rest. The 6-foot-8 small forward recently returned from Egypt with John Calipari’s under-19 Team USA squad.
He averaged 21.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 3.4 steals per 40 minutes and shot 54.2 percent (13 of 24) from 3-point range in seven FIBA U19 World Cup games.
“Overall it was a lot of fun,” Reddish said of the World Cup. “Everybody’s out there competing, going 110 percent. Cal really pushed us to defend, rebound, things like that.”
Reddish called Calipari a “go guy.” The extra time with the Kentucky coach may give the Cats an edge in the process.
“He and I obviously got closer,” Reddish said. “We got to talk a lot more about me specifically. I guess it helped him a little bit. I’m not gonna say I’m over the edge, but I guess so, yeah.”
Reddish said he’ll soon schedule his five official visits and shoot toward a November or December commitment.
