Kentucky has gotten off to a strong start in the 2018 recruiting cycle. And Mark Stoops and the Wildcats added another member to the class on Sunday, when Georgia running back Christopher Rodriguez.
The Georgia running back, out of McDonough, Ga., stands at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds. Despite not having a ranking in the 247Sports Composite, Rodriguez also had offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Rodriguez is the first running back commit in Kentucky’s class, which now has 16 commitments. It’s rated as the No. 5 class in the SEC and the No. 17 class nationally in the 2018 recruiting cycle.
The Wildcats have recruited well at running back in recent years. Kentucky had two 1,000 yard rushers last year. With Boom Williams, who was also a Georgia native, off to the NFL, the Wildcats will turn to Benny Snell in the ground game. Snell was rated as the No. 57 running back in the 2016 recruiting class, but far exceeded those expectations, as he rushed for 1,091 yards as a freshman.
Kentucky opens it’s 2017 season at Southern Miss on Sept. 2 at 4 p.m.
