Williams played in six games and caught four passes as a freshman, but had just one reception as a sophomore in four games in 2015. Prior to his announcement of an impending transfer, Williams missed several spring practices with an undisclosed injury, according to Jen Smith of the Lexington Herald Leader.
The speedy receiver was a three-star recruit and the No. 95 receiver of the Class of 2014, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, and chose Kentucky over seven other reported offers.
Kentucky’s top four receivers in 2015 were all sophomores, including Garrett Johnson and Dorian Baker, who accounted for 101 of the 218 receptions hauled in by Wildcats wideouts.
