Stephen Johnson scored from 11 yards out to give the Kentucky Wildcats a dramatic, come-from-behind win against Kentucky, 29-26, on Saturday at Kroger Field.
The win was a rare one — the Wildcats have beaten the Vols just twice since 1984 — and moved Kentucky to 6-2 overall and bowl eligible before November. Kentucky couldn’t have done it without running back Benny Snell, who rushed for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns and caught the 2-point conversion pass from Johnson to give the Wildcats a 3-point lead.
Kentucky fans were excited about the win.

Matthew Gordon: Our offense was ugly except for Benny Snell Jr., plus our defense was great today thank you for that great win
Betty Lee: Sometimes you gotta have an ugly game go your way!! Not so very long ago we would have come up on the short end of the stick in a game like this!! Go Cats
Kevin Carter: This is a profound statement. I am embarrassed of how we played and allowed TN to score like they did!! No excuse for these close games! I’m glad we won but should have beat UT by 20! They are horrible!
Durana Brown: I was nervous and frustrated most of this game. That superman move at the end was well worth the high blood pressure! What a game. It certainly was not boring AND WE WON!!!! A win is a win!
Matt Berry: I thought my heart was going to bounce out of my chest especially when Tennessee threw the Hail Mary pass
Jackie Morgan: Ugly game, too many turnovers, and poir tackling. They stepped up and defense held. A win is a win!
George Anders: Kentucky tried really hard to lose, but Tennessee just wouldn’t let ’em.
Teia Alexander: Win anyway you can!! Win out CATS!! BBN!!
Billy Works: Stephen Johnson has a will to win and without him we lose this game! 4 fumbles and we still win! Great job Stephen, Benny and All the Cats!
Chris Valandingham: Love my Cardiac Cats what a great team way to bounce back
