On this edition of Wildcat Country, host Curtis Burch is joined by SEC Country columnist Kyle Tucker. Kyle got a little fired up, as we cover everything in the news from a recruiting update to UK Football and the scandals at Louisville and North Carolina.
We start off with an update from Kyle via Immanual Quickley on what Zion Williamson thought of his visit to Big Blue Madness. Plus we look at a potential class that Calipari could sign including Bol Bol, Keldon Johnson, Williamson and Quickley. It could be another super team.
Next we look at a current UK basketball player who has been praised so much during the lead up to the season that he can no longer be called a surprise if he plays well this season. So many people have told you to watch out for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander that he can no longer be considered a sleeper on this team.
Kyle offers up his thought on UK Football. Are people (including Kyle) being too negative? We discuss the reasons why fans should be excited about this team. Also where does Stephen Johnson rank on the all time Kentucky QB list?
We wrap up with talking on the scandal around college basketball. Rick Pitino was officially fired at Louisville, but the headlines keep on coming, including Pitino suing Adidas. We discuss why Pitino keeps putting his name in the headlines over and over again. Also we get Kyle’s thoughts on what happened (or didn’t happen) to North Carolina after their academic scandal. Should the whole NCAA system just be blown up? If they can’t do anything to UNC then why are they there?
