It’s a huge week for the Kentucky football team. The Wildcats will fly to Starkville, Miss., Friday for a 4 p.m. date against Mississippi State on Saturday. Kentucky is 5-1, and if it can get to 6-1 Saturday, the rest of the schedule sets up well for the Wildcats.
Joe and Curtis give their predictions for the game and discuss the biggest matchup to watch: Kentucky’s run defense vs. Mississippi State’s rushing attack. The Bulldogs are third in the SEC in rushing yards per game and the Wildcats are giving up the third fewest rushing yards per game. It’ll be a strength vs. strength matchup at Davis Wade Stadium.
Kentucky coach Mark Stoops met with reporters after practice Thursday night and discussed injury news involving wide receiver Charles Walker and linebackers Jordan Jones and Jordan Bonner. Jones will suit up on Saturday for the first time since Week 2 against Eastern Kentucky.
It’s the halfway point of the season, so Curtis and Joe discussed the most indispensable Kentucky player for the second half of the season.
Kentucky football is finally back after a two-week hiatus, but so too is the NBA. There are 27 former Wildcats on NBA rosters and 17 of them were in action Wednesday night for the first full slate of games.
