Both Mark Stoops and Joe Mussatto are back from a bye week break. Joe is back from a trip back to Oklahoma and Mark Stoops was back to do his Monday press conference after taking a “half day” off during the bye week.
Mark Stoops gave an injury update on Jordan Jones and Luke Wright during his weekly press conference. We share some of the comments from that press conference, including compliments on center Drake Jackson. That leads into a conversation about Kentucky’s improving offensive line and how many will be returning next season.
Stoops also shares what the coaches did during the bye week. He also comments on how the secondary improved after a tough outing against Missouri. Speaking of Missouri, Stoops had a funny comment when he was asked about the Georgia secondary also struggling against Missouri’s high-powered offense, you will want to hear that.
Mississippi State is favored by 10 points over Kentucky and that could give UK some motivation. The staff has mentioned how they used lack of respect going into the game at South Carolina. Does the coaching staff like being the underdog on the road?
Then the conversation turns to the SEC overall, specifically the SEC East. Many schools have disappointed and there were some surprising scores from across the conference the past week. Also Joe projects how many wins Kentucky is on track for while there could be some interesting games coming up in the SEC if things go they way many project.
In this week’s edition of “Get to know Joe” we discover what Mr. Mussatto did on his vacation home, including the must-stop spot for a hamburger in Oklahoma City. And we wrap things up with some teasing of Kyle Tucker.
