Mike DeCourcy of the Sporting News joins this edition of Wildcat Country. We start off talking about the FBI scandal and look at it from a slightly different angle, specifically how this isn’t just a college basketball scandal but an issue on all levels of basketball. College basketball shouldn’t get a pass but the story is bigger than it is being made out to be and while Rick Pitino and Louisville are getting the headlines what Chuck Person did was way worse.
DeCourcy doesn’t believe that this is just the surface of the case. The FBI knows what they are doing and if they could have gotten more they would have continued the investigation before making it public. We also get Mike’s thoughts on North Carolina’s lack of punishment from the NCAA. .
On Kentucky, DeCourcy said when some of your experience is Brad Calipari, Jonny David and Tai Wynyard that’s problematic. There are a lot of very good players on the team but someone has to break out.
