Dorian Baker dropped a potential touchdown pass a week ago, a pivotal moment in a tough loss for Kentucky against Florida.
The drop was even more problematic because the Gators intercepted Kentucky quarterback Patrick Towles moments later. Baker found a measure of redemption Saturday as the Wildcats defeated 25th-ranked Missouri at Commonwealth Stadium.
Baker had five catches for 51 yards, including a fourth-quarter touchdown that gave Kentucky an 11-point lead in an eventual 21-13 victory.
“I’m really happy,” Baker said to SEC Network’s Maria Taylor after the game. “I mean, that drop, it didn’t really mean anything. It was just a drop. For me to come out this week and perform the way I did, I’m just thanking the man upstairs.”
That wasn’t even Baker’s best catch of the day. Baker’s one-handed snare near the sideline for a third-down conversion earlier in the fourth quarter was highlight-reel material.
