Kentucky’s Alex Poythress throws down nasty dunk, leaves game with hyperextended knee
UPDATE: Poythress returned to the game after halftime.
Soon after throwing down Kentucky’s dunk of the year, Alex Poythress left Saturday’s game with a knee injury.
ESPN’s broadcast reported that the Wildcats senior hyperextended his right knee; not the left, which he had ACL surgery on last year. He is “questionable” to return against Arizona State.
It’s not clear when Poythress was hurt, but he did not show any signs of bad health after skying for this Jordan-esque jam five minutes into the game:
