LEXINGTON, Ky. — A pair of Wildcats were awarded for their efforts Saturday against Mississippi State.
Junior kicker Austin MacGinnis was awarded SEC special teams player of the week and freshman running back Benny Snell took home freshman of the week honors.
MacGinnis missed a kick on Kentucky’s opening drive against Mississippi State, but that was all forgotten as he put through a 51-yard kick to give Kentucky a 40-38 win in the closing seconds Saturday.
Snell rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown. The freshman averaged 6.7 yards per carry against the Bulldogs.
