Kentucky’s frontcourt lost another important piece when junior Derek Willis crumpled to the floor with a right ankle injury at Texas A&M on Saturday night.
The 6-foot-9 forward has been an integral part of the Wildcats offense this season, averaging 8.0 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 44.2 percent from 3-point range entering the weekend.
Kentucky officially listed him as “questionable” to return.
Willis joins senior Alex Poythress on the injury list. Poythress, a senior, is expected to return from a right knee injury next week.
Junior post Marcus Lee returned to the floor on Saturday after suffering a lower back injury vs. Tennessee on Thursday.
