Kentucky’s John Calipari pays college tuition for two students
Two Kentucky students are already wondering what they’ll spend their spring tuition money on now that John Calipari has picked up the tab.
For the third straight year, the Wildcats coach will pay for the spring semester of two undergraduates.
Kelsey Saylor, a freshman from Corbin, Ky., and Jordan Evers a sophomore from Richmond, Va., were randomly selected for the prize at Tuesday night’s Blue-White Scrimmage in Lexington.
According to UKY.edu, in-state tuition is $5,546 per semester, while out-of-state tuition is $12,216.
Calipari started the tradition — which originated during his time at UMass — at Kentucky during the 2013-14 season. Proceeds from his Coaches’ Clinic will fund the scholarships.
