John Calipari was unable to speak with the media following his early ejection at South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
So Kentucky’s coach found another way to get out his thoughts on the Wildcats’ 89-62 blowout win: Twitter.
“I have never been more proud of a team,” he wrote. “They are now empowered. They’ve proven that they dont need me and I love it.”
Tyler Ulis and Co. spent more than 37 minutes without Calipari on the floor, but managed to build up a 15-point lead by halftime and then open the second frame on an 18-4 run.
Kentucky remained at the top of the SEC standings with its win, and will now return home to host Tennessee on Thursday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).
