DES MOINES — Tyler Ulis won’t stick around Lexington long enough to break any major career records, but he slipped past John Wall for first place on Kentucky’s single-season assists leaderboard Thursday.
The point guard notched his sixth assist of the night with roughly 12 minutes remaining in a blowout of Stony Brook.
Here’s what the new single-season list looks like:
- 242 — Tyler Ulis
- 241 — John Wall
- 232 — Roger Harden
- 193 — Travis Ford
- 193 — Anthony Epps
Wall broke the record six years ago. Before that, Harden’s mark had stood since 1986.
Barring an improbable comeback by Stony Brook (Kentucky is up 62-32 with 11:36 remaining at the time of this post), Ulis will get a chance to add to his record Saturday vs. Indiana.
