This takes guts.
As captured by Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News, former Kentucky point guard John Wall, now with the Washington Wizards, sauntered into FedEx Field on Sunday with a No. 22 Dallas Cowboys jersey before the Washington Redskins renewed their rivalry with Jerry Jones’ guys.
Of course, former running back Emmitt Smith caused heartache for many Washington fans while wearing No. 22 during his career with Dallas.
Wall is free to pull for whichever team he wants, but this isn’t the best way to score precious PR points in the District. The Cowboys rank somewhere between “death” and “taxes” in most Washington fans’ minds.
Perhaps Wall wants to elicit a reaction with this move. But you can bet most Redskins fans won’t be happy with him.
