Louisville coach Rick Pitino has plenty of issues surrounding his own program. But that didn’t stop him from taking a subtle jab at Kentucky.
Pitino went on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike” radio show to address his pending meeting with the NCAA over the use of prostitution to entice recruits to commit to Louisville. Pitino candidly explained how heartbroken he is over the scandal that has banned the Cardinals from postseason play. He also criticized Big Blue’s recruiting tactics.
“We didn’t need this to get recruits,” Pitino told the show. “You know we’re not Kentucky where we’re recruiting the one-and-dones.”
The Wildcats and coach John Calipari will be participating in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The No. 4 seed faces No. 13 Stony Brook in the first round Thursday night.
