The feelings between Kentucky and Louisville when it comes to its respective college sports teams will always be bitter, especially as the game between the Wildcats and Cardinals starts to approach on Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington.
Louisville interim athletic director Vince Tyra is not ashamed to speak his mind on what he wants the Cardinals to do on Saturday.
“I want to go down there and kick their ass,” Tyra said, per 247Sports.com.
That is big words for someone who spent their collegiate career at Kentucky playing baseball, but for Tyra, his dedication to the Cardinals should not be in doubt one second.
“I think people are clear on my loyalty to UofL. I’m a UofL fan.”
That was probably etched into him earlier in life, as his father, Charlie Tyra, played basketball for the Cardinals.
The game should be interesting, as the Wildcats have had a good season at 7-4, while Louisville has the former Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson at quarterback. Kentucky upset the Cardinals last season 41-38.
