John Calipari has had a number of talented play for him in his time at Kentucky. But no one has had as prolific a day as Malik Monk did against North Carolina.
Monk broke the freshman scoring record, which was previously held by Jamal Murray and Terrence Jones with 35 points. Monk had 36 with 11 minutes to go in the second half.

Monk didn’t wait long to extend the record as he hit another 3-pointer shortly afterwards to get to 39 points. Monk got those 39 points on 24 shots and was 6-10 from 3-point range with eight minutes left in the game.
The Wildcats are taking on North Carolina in a top-10 matchup in Las Vegas.
