Patrick Towles has silenced his critics.
One week after an awful performance in Kentucky’s loss to Florida, Towles led the Wildcats to a 21-13 victory over then-No. 25 Missouri on Saturday.
He was 22-of-27 for 249 yards and threw two touchdown passes, including a 24-yard strike to tight end C.J. Conrad. Towles also ran for a score.
This came one week after he threw two interceptions in a 14-9 loss against Florida. Towles had only 126 yards passing and eight completions in 24 attempts.
His performance raised many questions among the Kentucky faithful. Fans wondered whether backup Drew Barker should start.
Somebody let me know when Patrick Towles 1) cuts his hair and 2) gets benched.

Here is something I want to know, for UK fans clamoring for Patrick Towles to be benched, what does Drew Barker being to the table?

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops didn’t want to talk about Towles’ performance after the Florida loss, according to Kyle Tucker of Courier-Journal.com.
“I don’t want to comment on that right now,” Stoops said. “Patrick’s done some very good things. I’m not going to sit here and throw him under the bus. We need to play better around him. There were some drops out there. There were some protection issues. There’s enough blame to go around.”
So Saturday’s win was critical for Towles.
Instead of inconsistency, he found a rhythm. Instead of incompletions, he found accuracy.
The result was his best game of his career.
