While the pursuit of Marcus Lee’s services continues, one team may have established itself as the frontrunner.
California was heavily in the mix for the big man before he landed at Kentucky, according to a tweet from ESPN basketball insider Jeff Goodman, and he may choose the Golden Bears before all is said and done.
Sounding like California is the early frontrunner for Marcus Lee, source told ESPN. Bears were heavily in mix when he chose UK.

Lee withdrew his name for the 2016 NBA Draft on Wednesday and announced his plans to transfer. The former Wildcat expressed a desire to move closer to his home in Antioch, Calif., which would help explain why Cal, which is roughly an hour away, is the presumed leader.
Among the other schools reportedly interested in Lee are Georgia Tech, Baylor, Kansas, Gonzaga and Iowa State.
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 3.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and one block in his three seasons at Kentucky.
