It doesn’t seem to have taken very long for Kentucky to find its next play-caller.
Cincinnati offensive coordinator Eddie Gran is considered the favorite to take the same position at Kentucky, according to FoxSports.com’s Bruce Feldman.
Gran helped Cincy to the nation’s No. 5 total offense (559.4 yards per game) and No. 24 scoring offense (36.1).
Gran has been at Cincinnati since December 2012, and he boasts nearly three decades of coaching experience, including 10 years at Auburn and a stint at Tennessee.
Earlier this week, Kentucky cut ties with Shannon Dawson after one season with the team.
Under Dawson, the Wildcats finished 95th in scoring offense (24.7 points per game) and 89th in total offense (372 yards per game) nationally. The team also had its highest interception total (16) since 2000 and the lowest passing touchdown total (10) since 2005.
