Cincinnati offensive coordinator/running backs coach Eddie Gran will be named Kentucky’s offensive coordinator, according to CatsIllustrated.com’s Justin Rowland.
Gran will replace former Kentucky offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, who was not retained following the 2015 season.
Gran has a long history of coaching in the Southeast. He is considered a strong recruiter, particularly in South Florida.
Before joining Cincinnati’s football team in 2013, Gran spent three seasons as the associate head coach, running backs coach and special teams coordinator at Florida State. Gran spent 15 seasons as a running backs coach and special teams coordinator in the SEC, including 10 years at Auburn, four seasons at Ole Miss and one season at Tennessee.
Gran also coached at Miami from 1990-91, where he developed extensive recruiting ties that he has continued to benefit from at different coaching stops. Gran was named one of ESPN.com’s Top 25 recruiters in 2011 when he helped Florida State secure the nation’s No. 1 signing class.
