LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky sophomore RB Mikel Horton will transfer from the program, a UK spokesperson confirmed Tuesday night.
Horton had just three carries this season, and those will be his last as a Wildcat.
Horton entered fall camp in competition for serious playing time in the backfield after rushing for 318 yards on 82 carries as a freshman in 2015. But he was beaten out by junior Stanley Williams and freshman Benny Snell. Horton’s three carries have amounted to 12 yards, while Williams has rushed for 464 on 58 carries and Snell has 209 on 33 rushes.
Horton transfer seemed inevitable when frosh Benny Snell started smashing people. Took Horton's bruiser role. Cats high on frosh AJ Rose too
