New Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox didn’t get too far into his professional career before he started getting tough questions from the media.

The SI for Kids reporter, not to be confused with the one who drew praise from South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin, asked Fox about joining a rebuilding Kings squad.
“It’ll be different, but a lot of people are going through it,” Fox said in response. “A lot of people have gone to a team like this, and changed it around, and became a championship team … I know it’ll take a few years, nothing changes over night.”
The Kings might be rebuilding, but they have a talented, young core to build around. In addition to Fox, Sacramento has 2016 draft picks Buddy Hield and Skal Labissiere, who both showed promise as rookies. The Kings also took forward Justin Jackson and center Harry Giles in Thursday’s draft.
