John Calipari, the Kentucky Wildcats, and Big Blue Nation have all become familiar with loaded recruiting classes coming to Lexington year after year. The class of 2017 is no different, ranking No. 1 in 247Sports composite list.
In a video posted Thursday afternoon, Calipari welcomed his three latest signings in the spring 2017 cycle: Kevin Knox, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Jemarl Baker. Take a look at the video below:
The Wildcats did miss out on Mohamed Bamba to Texas earlier Thursday, but Calipari appears unfazed as he describes each of the three new players one by one.
Calipari said he’s “ecstatic” about his class of incoming freshman, namely Kevin Knox, for whom Calipari seems to be chomping at the bit.
“I’m anxious to see his growth, cause I think it’ll be off the chain,” he said.
Calipari continually emphasizes his team’s youth throughout the video, but in the era of one-and-done players, he’s ready to handle it.
“This may be my youngest team ever,” he said. But you know what, I love the challenge of it.”
