It may have been a tough weekend for Kentucky fans after a 27-24 loss to Georgia on Saturday, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some Wildcats fans still proud of their team’s performance this year.
Kentucky, traditionally a basketball powerhouse but not so much in football, has been competitive in the SEC East division and had won three in a row before the loss to the Bulldogs.
On Monday morning, a Kentucky radio station shared a fan-made parody of Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets” to highlight a pair of the Wildcats’ top offensive playmakers — running back Benny Snell and wide receiver Jeff Badet.
Watch below the parody titled “Benny and Badet”:
According to Kentucky Sports Radio, the song was recorded by Jason Harkin, an instructor at Elkhorn Crossing School in Georgetown, Ky.
Snell and Badet have certainly had seasons worthy of being incorporated into a song. Snell, a freshman, has rushed for 775 yards and 10 touchdowns. Badet has 22 receptions for 530 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Wildcats will look to get back on the winning track this Saturday when they travel to Tennessee for a noon kickoff on SEC Network.
