Kentucky’s loss to North Carolina on Sunday afternoon was one of the most painful you’ll ever see. After Malik Monk’s three-pointer with just a little over 10 seconds left, the Wildcats were on top of the world, only to come crashing down as North Carolina’s Luke Maye hit a jumper from the left wing to send the Tar Heels to the Final Four.
Understandably, the Kentucky locker room was in bad spirits after the game. Many of the players have never, and never will again, experience a loss quite as crushing as that one. Two players who took the end of the game extremely hard were point guard De’Aaron Fox and big man Bam Adebayo. With Adebayo’s arm around his shoulders, Fox gave a tearful answer when explaining what was going through his head at the moment:
Very emotional Kentucky locker room as expected. pic.twitter.com/ksNn4iOGHW

Tough to watch, for sure, but nobody can say that the Wildcats weren’t invested in this season, even if it was their only one in college.
