We no longer have to wait until National Signing Day to see which hat Rashard Lawrence chooses.
The five-star defensive tackle from Neville High School (Monroe, La.) announced he will choose between LSU and Ohio State at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22 at his high school.
Lawrence, the No. 1-rated player in the state of Louisiana, narrowed his field down to the Tigers and Buckeyes earlier this month at the Under Armour All-America Game.
Last month, after helping his team capture Louisiana’s Class 4A state championship, Lawrence told SEC Country he would make a decision in January and that he didn’t have to wait until National Signing Day (Feb. 3).
Lawrence has exhibited confidence in LSU — in both his relationship with defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and the school’s decision to retain coach Les Miles.
“Coach Miles is a great guy. Players love playing for him. To see him not there would be completely different for the program. I’m glad he’s staying. It helped my progress and the other kids around the nation, so I’m glad he’s staying,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence, who’s 6-foot-3, 305 pounds, will join a star-studded cast officially visiting LSU this weekend. He previously took an official visit to Ohio State on Oct. 17.
Lawrence is projected to commit to LSU, according to 100 percent of the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions.
