Two Louisville players who were reportedly shot during an off-campus incident earlier this month did not practice Tuesday.
As reported by Steve Jones of The Courier-Journal, Cardinals linebackers James Hearns and Henry Famurewa were not in uniform during Louisville’s Citrus Bowl practice on Tuesday morning.
Jones mentions that Hearns, who was reportedly shot in the elbow, was wearing street clothes and a cast on his arm as he watched the workout while Famurewa, who was reportedly shot in the foot and arm, made the trip to Orlando and has used a protective walking scooter to move around.
Hearns totaled a team-high 8 sacks this season, in addition to 43 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 5 forced fumbles. Famurewa played in nine games this year and produced 10 tackles and 2 sacks.
With both players not participating in the practice Tuesday, it seems fair to guess that they are unlikely to play in the Citrus Bowl between Louisville and LSU on Saturday at Camping World Stadium.
