Marcus Banks brought his mother and sister to Baton Rouge for LSU’s junior day on Saturday. In the aftermath, the Tigers made their move for the blue-chip defensive back.
Banks, who recently punched his ticket to Nike’s The Opening Finals in Dallas this summer, named LSU as his leading school.
“They’re No. 1,” he told SEC Country. “They’re at the top of my list.”
The 6-foot, 170-pound Houston product has family in Baton Rouge and reconnected with them after his unofficial visit to LSU. He is expected back in town later this spring for an official visit and aims to give a commitment ahead of his senior season at Dekaney (Texas) High School.
Banks, a 4-star prospect, ranks as the No. 31 cornerback in the 2019 class and the No. 45 overall recruit in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
