It turns out that country star Josh Abbott is a gracious loser.
That was made abundantly clear Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La., when Abbott performed at the Varsity Theatre wearing a Leonard Fournette jersey.
ESPN’s Peter Burns tweeted out a photo of the performer, adding, “When you’re a Texas Tech fan & you lose a bet to a LSU fan you have to play your concern in a (Leonard Fournette) jersey.”
Abbott, a Red Raiders fan, added some context to Burns’ tweet.
“A bet’s a bet!” he tweeted. “All in good fun! We’ll win next time.”
Of course, this punishment stems from LSU’s 56-27 romping of the Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl in late December. Adding some insult to injury, LSU also poached Texas Tech’s running backs coach less than a month after being hired by the team.
The fans may not have been made aware of why Abbott was rocking the Fournette jersey, but it’s likely they appreciated it.
