There might not be any doubt as to who the No. 1 overall pick in next summer’s NBA Draft will be. Ben Simmons seems to be on the fast track to locking up the top pick just seven games into his first college basketball season.
Simmons went off on Wednesday night against North Florida, dropping 43 points with 14 rebounds, seven assists and five steals and three blocks during LSU’s 119-108 win over North Florida. That is a grown-man stat line.
Plenty of records were broken on Simmons’ incredible night. He was the first Tiger to score at least 43 points since Shaquille O’Neal dropped 43 against Northern Arizona during the 1991 season. Simmons was also the first collegiate player in 20 years with at least 40 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals.
What does this all mean? Ben Simmons is pretty darn good.
