LSU quarterback Brandon Harris might be developing into a star before our eyes.
The sophomore quarterback connected on a flea flicker earlier in the game, but his latest touchdown pass was easily his best play of the season.
LSU faced a 3rd and 9 from midfield with 27 seconds left in the first half. Harris took the snap and was immediately flushed to his right. Harris evaded three Florida defenders and even shook off a flailing Jordan Sherit, who tried to pull Harris down from behind.
The quarterback scrambled toward the sideline, then stepped up and launched a pass to the waiting hands of Malachi Dupre who took care of the rest. Dupre cut past a Florida defender and scampered into the end zone for an incredible 50-yard touchdown that put LSU up 28-14.
This was the crowning play of Harris’ best half of his college career. The quarterback went 10 of 12 for 189 yards and two touchdowns in the first half Saturday night.
